The methodology we use is activated alumina.
To reduce fluoride to 0.5 ppm, the flow rate must be run at recommended flow quidelines. This allows the water to have sufficient contact time with the media to accomplish fluoride removal. Temperature and pH are not factors to consider with city water conditions. pH is a factor with some well water conditions.

CQ 900 is a high capacity synthetic absorbent media that is highly selective for fluoride, arsenic, & lead. The extremely high surface area and pore distribution gives this media the highest possible operating capacity and lowest possible leakage.

CQ 900 is a synthetic aluminum oxide that is specially processed to have a minimum of fines and other foreign matter.

CQ 900 removes metals through a combination of absorption and a chemical reaction with the media, thus the removal is not dependent on ion exchange.

CQ 900 has a uniform particle size similar to ion exchange resins. It has minimal shrinkage or swelling and low pressure loss. It is physically stable and can be used over a wide pH range.

Fluoride is removed by CQ 900 a chemical reaction with the media.
The best results are obtained when the flow is limited to about 1 gallon per minute.
