Ozone vs. Hydroxyl Radicals:

Ozone is a cleaning agent because it oxidizes organic substances, which tends to render them harmless or remove them. This is why it is often used to purify air and water, but there is a grave risk associated with airborne ozone that is usually understated for obvious reasons. Most companies who sell ozone-based air purifiers claim that the ozone dissipates within 20 minutes, but in truth, it can persist far longer in many cases, during which time it is damaging organic cells, including lung tissue. This will indeed help purify your air of certain contaminants, but is certainly not worth the health risk to you!

We do not believe that it is acceptable to market a product that might cause harm to our customers, and do not need to hide behind dubious pseudo-science to attempt to camouflage a potentially serious health risk. That’s a game played by the likes of tobacco companies, and is ridiculous for an air purifier company.

Hydroxyl Radicals on the other hand have a life measured in mere milliseconds, so while they have the time required to perform their important cleansing of the air passing through the SA-700, they cannot escape into your room to cause harm. This technology is far safer than ozone, and will counteract many types of organic and chemical contamination, providing more comprehensive protection than ozone.

Please don’t be misled by the popularity of ozone air purification systems and their misinformation! If you must use such a system, please ensure that no people or pets are in the home while it is operating, and be sure to allow several hours for the ozone to disappear before re-occupying the area.
